A Message from Our Executive Director
My family has spent over 70 years living on the westside of San Antonio. My grandparents built their home off 36th street. My parents would walk to John F. Kennedy high school from their homes on 34th street and Northington St. The westside has a very special place in my heart and memories.

There is still much work to do to ensure our community reaches the level of success needed to lift an entire community out of generational poverty. I look forward to working closely with our coalition partners and neighborhood leaders in supporting collective efforts to improve the vital condition of our westside community.
Our Team
Our Structure
UNITY37 Coalition’s structure is comprised of a
steering committee, several highly-collaborative
workgroups, and a support staff that acts as a
neutral convener and supports the work of
the Coalition.
Steering Advisory Committee
A group comprised of community leaders within
our partner organizations, the steering committee provides strategic direction for the Coalition and
champions its work.
Support Staff
An independent, funded staff dedicated to the
Coalition provides ongoing support by guiding the
vision and strategy, supporting aligned activities,
establishing shared measurement practices, building
public will, advancing policy, and mobilizing resources.
Workgroups to be formed include:
Screening and Referral Workgroup will focus on
identifying screening and service gaps for those at risk of or experiencing barriers due to Social Determinants of Health disparities and creates testing and other resources for linking screening to services.
Education Workgroup will focus on raising awareness
and providing education about the benefits of youth
activities, living a healthy lifestyle and identifying and
engaging in prevention strategies to increase wellness.
Data Workgroup will focus on obtaining and synthesizing
data from partner organizations and other entities
that the Coalition needs to learn and improve. Specifically, the Data Workgroup will:

* Determine best ways to measure, compile, and
interpret data needed by the steering committee
and workgroups
* Research, compile, interpret, and share important data
* Increase data sharing among partner organizations
* Use technology to collect data and communicate
progress

Policy Workgroup will focus on identifying, prioritizing,
and advocating for relevant policy changes at the
local and state levels by:
* Determining the priority areas of focus for policy advocacy
* Helping workgroup members build networks and
relationships with key local and state decisionmakers.
* Identifying and advocating for relevant policy changes at local and state levels
